Soooo I'm still here. Chillin'. All flights are currently suspended until 7am Tuesday, the newspapers are beginning to worry about how this flight deal will affect businesses and the exotic food supply, and the sky is probably the weirdest mesh of light blue/ashy grey I've ever seen. According to the BBC Scotland is supposed to open flights up tomorrow, and London should follow soon after. There's been some pretty sweet dark red sunsets too. It's almost like being home, if you ignore the victorian architecture and lack of ocean.
Yesterday I went to Shakespeare's Globe theatre for a free exhibition celebrating his birthday, which is this Friday (aka the new date I should be flying out) it was pretty cool, I mean, there was an exhibition on the history of the globe and a ton of people and a mini demonstration of a choreographed fight scene using the same steps but different weapons (it was sadly, quite boring) and there was a comedy thing with kids on the stage of the globe itself (like, there were three buildings, with the globe theatre sandwiched in the middle) and two women outside playing some excellent accordion/viola music. I took a video of it, but I don't want to take my packed bags apart to look for the chord to upload them.
Today has been spent gloriously sleeping and playing videogames. There was a little bit of me trying to figure out what shows to go to, but I'm not in the mood to go or do things, so it was a bit half-hearted. I'm really hoping that it rains today though- I'm starting to cough more, and I prefer blaming the ash to me being sick with an untreatable cold virus.
I'm currently making some fish and rice, and watching the team supplies get eaten, which is a good thing. I had been worried that I would have to throw all my extra groceries out- now it looks like there's just enough to provide for everyone until we all go home. Next to me there's brown rice and white rice, some weird barley and fruit drink, a can of cream of mushroom soup, pasta and pasta sauce, "ready brek" which is basically like crushed powdered oatmeal , 2 cans of peanut butter, and curry sauce. Oh, and the turkey and stuff in my fridge. Nom nom nom.
mm...methinks it is time for dishwashing and veggitating. Who knows...maybe I'll discover the secrets of human photosynthesizing, if I vegitate enough. It's worth a shot for a day.
