Today was Handel's birthday. This means we:
-Went to a lecture about Handel's opera called Belshazzar. Belshazzar's about the Persians conquest of Babylon and free the Jews because the Babylonian King is like
B.K: "Baha! I have conquered the Jews and thus their God! Bow to me!"
/drinks the sacred holy wine of the Jews/
Jews: "oh noes! don't do that! that's for our god!"
B.K: "Baha! Your god is nothing! See, he doesn't stop me!"
/drinks again./
God: "Psh, please fool." /starts writing in the background/
B.K. freaks out, nobody else sees it, B.K dies, the Persians win, and the Persians free the Jews.
-We went to the church Handel used to worship at to listen to the concert version of Balshazzar.
We also had theatre class, where we praticed melodramatic gesturing and talked about how it came into existance, and then moved on into naturalistic theatre.
But now it is almost 2am, I need to be up early to try to get theatre tickets and pictures for a presentation due tomorrow, then I need to meet up with my partner and attempt to come up with a coherent presentation style. We're being graded on style more than content, and the project can only be 10min, and needs to be able to be giving individual grades. Bothersome. Oh well. Wish me luck!
