Feb 24-26: Hmmsa; or: Jerusalem, foodstuffs, and the future!

Well. It's been awhile since I've blogged. I should probably stay on top of this more, but it's taking awhile for my life to get back in order.

Sooo, if Tuesday was the day we went to see Belshazzar, that means that:

Wednesday I got up at 9am and stood in line for day tickets to see a play called Jerusalem. Then I went and took pictures so I could finish my art final project. Basically it was a presentation on the V&A art museum galleries. I'm assuming Cat and I did okay, especially since we worked on ours for roughly 5 hours or more, while most people hashed it together right before the presentation time. Kind of sad that one of my classes is over just as I was starting to understand the material, but such is life on a short study abroad.

-Our 10 pound day tickets that everyone got who woke up early and stood in line somehow managed to place everyone from my LC group in the best seats in the house for the cheapest amounts of money. Noelle and I shared a box on the right side of the stage with this man. You know, those special high-class expensive seats. Everyone else was basically in the front row. To put this in perspective, we got 10 pound seats to a show to sit in an area which is roughly 50pound seats, or $80. Basically, awesome.

One of the guys was from Pirates of the Caribbean! The pirate with the wooden eye that kept popping out was like...4 feet away from me! So neat! He seems way more serious and quiet and reserved though in real life. Apparently he was also in the original Office TV show. There was also another very famous west-end guy who was the main character, and then some famous old british actress in the audience, but I've forgotten their names now. Sorry.

Thursday we got paid! Which was really nice since I spent all my money in St. Ives and was running out of food. I made spaghetti with celery and onions. Sparse, but not too bad I suppose. Then I took the night to attempt to sort out all the homework I have to do between now and the end of the semester (there's a ton!) and my internship hours log, and our shows we've seen log, and updating my calendar (still not finished) crazy. Then, at night, I watched the rest of Chuck. I'm all caught up now! Which is also somewhat sad, because I want to know what happens next.

Friday (today) I went up to Ladbroke Grove which is supposedly near Portobello Road and returned a library book, only to find out that the one single indiviual sole copy of the next book in my series is "loaned out" until 2004. Yep. That's what the catalog said. Soo not sure what I'm going to read next. Then I went to my internship and put together a list of what cables and lights and dimmers and stuff I have to compile for them next week so we can take it up to Birmingham (about 2 hours by train) and light a show. Pretty cool.

Oh! And somewhere between thursday and friday, I made my first ever home-made hashbrown ever! They're not very good, as in I wouldn't let any of you eat them yet, but they're edible to me and I don't mind the practice.

So after I came home I went grocery shopping and bought more potatoes! I made hashbrowns and a fried egg and grilled onions for dinner (I know, mom probably didn't know I eat those things now days) Odd how I've grown to really like onions, and eat cooked celery, isn't it?

Oh! So. Not sure why, but apparently it's a big thing here to have kebab/burger/fried chicken take-out places. Like McDonalds, but slightly sketchier since they're all over the place with their own names, but always they sell burgers and fries, fried chicken, and kebabs. Such a random menu! I ate at one today. Chicken burger with fries and a fruit drink with what I assume is Hindi written on it. It wasn't five star delicious, but a good fast food cheaper than 6pound McDonalds meal, and surprisingly more filling.

The plan for tomorrow is to go with Todd to some special premiere showing of Tron 2 in IMAX 3D. I'm hoping it's the whole movie 9 months before it premieres, but he says it might just be a solid full scene that's only 15 minutes long. But we'll see, and it'll be a good adventure either way. After/during that a group may or may not be going to dim sum, or they might be going on Sunday. Nobody knows! And then at night we're all going to watch Ethan sing with a London A Capella group and I think the Royal London Symphony Orchestra? Some combination of 3 or so of those words, I think. But like I said- plans fall through easier than a masterpiece on an etch-a-sketch. So we'll see.
